Preparation and Characterization of Er~(3+)-Yb~(3+) Co-doped Li_2O-ZnO-SiO_2 Transparent Glass-Ceramics

Abstract
The Er3 +-Yb3 + co-doped Li2O-ZnO-SiO2 glass-ceramics were prepared by melting and crystallization technology and the samples were characterized by DTA, XRD, SEM and UV-Vis-NIR and the factors affecting the crystallization of glass-ceramics were analyzed. The results show that Li2O-ZnO-SiO2 system(LZS) glass has the fine crystallization, the optimized heat treating temperature is 700 ℃, the main crystal phase is silica and Li8Zn10Si7O28, the optical transmittance reaches about 85% in visible light band, the grain diameter observed by SEM is 30~40 nm, the transmittance spectra observation by fluorescence spectra of glass-ceramics is improved compared to the base glass and has the strongest peak value at 1 530 nm.
