Abstract
Dans le domaine de l’enseignement, l’exploitation du potentiel de l’eleve afin qu’il developpe une bonne image de lui occupe une place importante. Cependant, au regard des recherches realisees sur l’estime de soi, une realite tout aussi presente est oubliee, soit l’estime de soi des nouvelles enseignantes. Pourtant, les ecrits theoriques demontrent le role important qu’elle joue lors de la transition « etudes-travail ». Il apparait donc pertinent d’orienter cette etude en ce sens. A l’aide d’entrevues semi-dirigees s’inscrivant dans une perspective qualitative et interpretative, l’objectif de cette recherche est de decrire l’etat actuel de l’estime de soi de 10 enseignantes du prescolaire et du primaire en phase d’insertion professionnelle. Cet article presente une partie des resultats de l’etude qui ont permis notamment de degager des liens entre l’estime de soi et quatre composantes : sentiment de confiance en soi, sentiment de competence, connaissance de soi, sentiment d’appartenance.
