Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We search for the rare flavor-changing neutral current process ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ using data from the BABAR experiment. The data sample, collected at the center-of-mass energy of the $\mathit{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}(4S)$ resonance, corresponds to a total integrated luminosity of $424\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ and to $471\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}1{0}^{6}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{B}\overline{\mathrm{B}}$ pairs. We reconstruct one $B$ meson, produced in the $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}(4S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{B}^{+}{B}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decay, in one of many hadronic decay modes and search for activity compatible with a ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decay in the rest of the event. Each $\ensuremath{\tau}$ lepton is required to decay leptonically into an electron or muon and neutrinos. Comparing the expected number of background events with the data sample after applying the selection criteria, we do not find evidence for a signal. The resulting upper limit, at the 90% confidence level, is $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}})<2.25\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
