Abstract
La colonialité du projet sioniste, puis de l’État d’Israël, est aujourd’hui un sujet quasi-tabou dans maints milieux académiques occidentaux. Pourtant, un nombre constant de travaux a été produit à ce sujet dans les milieux anglophones depuis les années 1960. Cet article propose une exploration de ces analyses, depuis les débuts du sionisme à aujourd’hui. Quatre étapes sont retracées : les premières critiques de l’activité sioniste en Palestine avant 1948, les analyses arabes et juives des années 1960-1970 relevant la collusion entre le sionisme et l’impérialisme européen, les travaux des chercheurs postsionistes des années 1980-1990 s’attardant sur la structuration coloniale de la société israélienne, et enfin l’apport récent des études du colonialisme de peuplement (Settler Colonial Studies). Ce faisant, il s’agit de (re)mettre en avant une approche théorique, à la fois ancienne et nouvelle, qui permet de mieux saisir dans un même cadre d’analyse les relations israélo-palestiniennes.
