Abstract
Lakis Proguidis D'emble il faut prciser que, lorsqu'il s'agit de rflchir sur l'histoire du roman, nous butons sur un obstacle mthodologique majeur. Serat-il jamais possible d'crire l'histoire de quelque chose qui ne fait pas l'unanimit, loin de l, ni sur son identit ni sur sa date de naissance ? Or, la notion de mmoire autour de laquelle doit s'articuler notre pense nous permet de surmonter cet obstacle. Car elle nous incite abandonner les efforts pour dcrire de l'extrieur l'volution historique d'un art indfinissable et nous plonger plutt l'intrieur de cet art afin de l'couter nous raconter lui-mme son histoire. Pourvu qu'on admette l'hypothse, videmment, qu'il a su en sauvegarder la mmoire. Hypothse qui me parat tout fait lgitime, si je m'en remets ce que dit Bakhtine propos du roman :
