Regulação afetiva na toxicodependência : impacto da inteligência emocional e alexitimia no grau de dependência de substâncias

Abstract
Esta investigação propôs-se determinar a influência de algumas características psicológicas (alexitimia e inteligência emocional) no grau de envolvimento com drogas, servindo-se de um estudo comparativo entre consumidores e não consumidores, tendo em vista contribuir para um melhor conhecimento e compreensão dos fatores que podem estar na base do referido consumo bem como da sua severidade. Com uma amostra de 60 sujeitos, 30 consumidores e não consumidores, procedeu-se à realização de um estudo descritivo-correlacional, utilizando como instrumentos de colheita de dados o Dast (Drug Abuse Screening Test), a Escala de Inteligência Emocional - EIS e a escala de alexitimia de Toronto (TAS-20), além de um questionário sociodemográfico. De seguida, procedemos à análise das relações entre as respetivas variáveis. Ao nível das hipóteses procurou estudar-se as diferenças de inteligência emocional e alexitimia em consumidores e não-consumidores, bem como a sua relação com a gravidade do consumo. Os resultados da nossa investigação indicam que a alexitimia apresenta níveis superiores no grupo de consumidores em comparação com o grupo de não consumidores. Quanto aos níveis de inteligência emocional os resultados não foram conclusivos, apresentando médias superiores de inteligência emocional no grupo de não consumidores, mas não sendo resultados significativos, de igual modo a sua relação com a gravidade de substâncias não nos permitiu um resultado conclusivo. Concluímos a nossa investigação com uma interpretação destes resultados.
