Lessons Learned from Implementing a Health Promotion Program at One of District Health Promotion Hospital in Central Region of Thailand

Abstract
Abstract Health promotion is an important role and proactive function of nurses emphasizing on building an individual efficacy and potential capability for self-care and being able to access to care as needed. This current health promotion course creates learning experience through transferring of expertise and hands-on experience from a nurse innovator. The course content was synthesized from health promotion practice and development of health promotion innovation based on the Ottawa Charter among nurses in the central region. The course attendants, professional nurses and nursing students, thought that participating in the health promotion workshop at the learning center helped the attendants increase their knowledge and comprehension in terms of strategy and strategic methods in health promotion based on the Ottawa Charter profoundly. They could apply concepts and principles of health promotion in their practice areas. Implementing module as a teaching-learning means enhanced the unbarring teaching- learning atmosphere. The workshop also helped the attendants see the picture of health promotion practice of the nurse owning a health promotion innovation which associated with the scope of creating supportive environment, strengthening community action, and building healthy public policy. The attendants suggested that health promotion knowledge should be disseminated to other contexts to expand the learning center networking.
