Abstract
RESUMENComo parte del lanzamiento del doctorado en salud de la Facultad de Salud de la Universidad del Valle en Cali, el 17 de junio de 2015, se ofreció una conferencia sobre el sistema de publicación de artículos científicos. En este articulo, se espera compartir las reflexiones concernientes a este sistema, sus características, sus derivas así como sus evoluciones contemporáneas. Los estudiantes que inician un doctorado en salud, pero igualmente los jóvenes investigadores, deben estar bien formados, conocer mejor el sistema para estar en medida de adaptarse de manera justa y estratégica. En este texto, se presentan reflexiones sobre derechos de autoría, la revisión por pares, el acceso abierto a revistas y las revistas “depredadoras”. Adicionalmente, se evocan nuevas iniciativas prometedoras que promueven la evolución del sistema de publicaciones, notablemente en vinculo con el sistema de evaluación de la comunidad científica, que en gran parte es responsable de las situaciones observadas.
