críticas del trabajo.Tras una breve ojeada a la tabla de contenidos, llama la atención que términos como violencia y narcocultura, por ejemplo, no sean objetos de estudio en este trabajo.Como muy bien señalan los editores en la introducción, el listado de términos seleccionados para la reflexión no pretende ser exhaustivo.Muchos términos importantes, tales como "avantgarde, melodrama, desaparecidos, performance, territory, narcocultura, cultural agents, Marxism [y] violencia" quedan fuera de la discusión (17).Los términos incluidos, sin embargo, responden -en su mayoría -al interés académico de cada uno de los editores: el de la literatura colonial y los asuntos raciales (Martínez-San Miguel), el de las sexualidades latinoamericanas (Sifuentes-Jaúregui) y el de los asuntos de géneros y de la frontera (Belauteguigoitia).Otro aspecto que podría haber suscitado la crítica por parte del lector es el hecho de que el volumen esté escrito enteramente en inglés.Una vez más, los editores se anticipan a la crítica al anunciar que la segunda parte del proyecto consistirá en la traducción de este volumen al español para que, de esta forma, también el lector residente en Latinoamérica pueda ser partícipe de las reflexiones que aquí se presentan.Critical Terms in Caribbean and Latin American Thought es, sin duda alguna, un estudio sólido y minucioso y muy necesario en el campo de la literatura y los estudios culturales latinoamericanos tanto para académicos ya establecidos como para estudiantes universitarios.
