QUANTIFYING OF THE DEPOSITION VELOCITIES OF METHANE AT CANADIAN NUCLEAR SITES
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The deposition velocity of methane from the atmosphere to vegetated soil was measured at a number of sites around Pickering, Darlington, and Chalk River Laboratories (CRL), Ontario, using a small environmental exposure chamber. Around the CANDU stations, deposition velocities ranged from 1.97 × 10−5 to 4.98 × 10−5 m s−1 for summer conditions and from 3.95 × 10−5 to 7.83 × 10−5 m s−1 for autumn. A summer value for the CRL site was 3.09 × 10−5 m s−1. The deposition velocity was not obviously related to any soil properties, although the summer values showed a weak tendency to increase as the water content of the 0–5 cm deep layer of soil decreased. The deposition velocities can be used to estimate the fraction of radiomethane released from CANDU reactors that is converted to radioactive carbon dioxide by soil microorganisms.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
