Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāda saikne ir starp emocionālo intelektu un aleksitīmiju cilvēkiem, kas slimo ar veģetatīvo asinsvadu distoniju. Dotā pētījuma ietvaros tika noskaidrots: vai emocionālā intelekta rādītāji prognozē aleksitīmijas parādīšanos cilvēkiem, kas slimo ar veģetatīvo asinsvadu distoniju; vai ir statistiski svarīgas atšķirības emocionālā intelekta rādītājos un aleksitīmijas līmeņos kas slimo ar veģetatīvo asinsvadu distoniju un kontrolgrupā. Pētījumā piedalījās 78 skolnieki un studenti, 17 - 20 gadu vecumā. Anonīmās anketēšanas ceļā respondenti tika sadalīti divās grupās: „ar veģetatīvo asinsvadu distoniju slimo cilvēku” grupa (eksperimentālā grupa) un „kontrolgrupa”, katrā grupā ir 39 cilvēki. Eksperimentālās grupas vidējais vecums ir 18,23 gadi, kontrolgrupas vidējais vecums 18,53 gadi. Visi demogrāfiskie rādītāji tika pielīdzināti viens otram abās grupās.\nPētījumā tika izmantoti 3 instrumentāriji: Iezīmju emocionālā intelekta aptauja – īsā versija (Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, TEIQue – Short Form, Petrides & Furnham, 2006), Toronto aleksitīmijas skala (Twenty – Item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS – 20)), (Bagby, Parker, & Taylor, 1994) un Anketa respondentu atlasei.\nPētījuma rezultāti parādīja, ka emocionālā intelekta rādītāji prognozē aleksitīmijas parādīšanos cilvēkiem, kas slimo ar veģetatīvo asinsvadu distoniju 36% gadījumos. Rezultātu dažādības grupās parādīja, ka emocionālais intelekta, emocionalitāte, sabiedriskums – ir augstāki kontrolgrupā, bet kopējsais rādītājs aleksitīmija un eksternālā domāšana - eksperimentālā grupā. \n\nAtslēgas vārdi: emocionālais intelekts, aleksitīmija, veģetatīvā asinsvadu distoniju.
