Abstract
Una constante en la poesia de las vanguardias latinoamericanas y en el modernismo brasileno (Fervor de Buenos Aires de jorge Luis Borges, Urbe de Manuel Maples arce, Pauliceia Desvairada de Mario de andrade, etc.) es la ciudad, esta es tematizada y representada a traves de un nuevo lenguaje que la convierte en icono de la modernidad (como, por ejemplo, el celebre poema cidade de augusto de campos). asi, en el Brasil, durante el concretismo la ciudad se vuelve un simbolo de esperanza en un futuro mejor basado en el desarrollo urbano. en el momento posconcreto, tal optimismo se transforma, por el contrario, en dudas, escepticismo y hasta pesimismo en relacion tanto al lenguaje poetico, como al tema de la ciudad como generadora de una sociedad mas justa. Pobreza, violencia y desastre ecologico pueblan las ciudades de la poesia posconcreta de Haroldo de campos(“cubatao”), Frederico Barbosa (Contracorrente) y regis Bonvicino (Pagina Orfa), entre otros. el presente ensayo analiza los cambios en la representacion poetica de la ciudad y el surgimiento de una “conciencia toxica” en relacion al medio ambiente urbano en esos tres poetas del momento posconcreto
