En condición de responsable durante varios años por la formación de enseñantes, en el marco de proyectos de investigación sobre el programa de Filosofía para niños en Quebec, y por haber incentivado las discusiones con este enfoque en las clases de primaria y secundaria, las observaciones de Oscar Brenifier sobre varios aspectos problemáticos de la actividad filosófica con niños, ligadas a su visión crítica del método Lipman, en efecto me llevaran a la meditación. Él me hizo considerar algunas observaciones y críticas respecto a Filosofía para niños, que con mucho gusto yo podría suscribir, considerando ciertas modalidades de la aplicación del programa desarrollado por Matthew Lipman. Dar voz a los niños para que ellos puedan expresar lo que piensan es ya una revolución en la escuela; y esta práctica debe ser alentada para transformar una cultura escolar centrada en la trasmisión de conocimientos, en la cual el alumno está invitado a expresarse sólo para responder a las preguntas del maestro. Poder expresarse libremente, sin el juicio del enseñante es, en este sentido, un paso importante que permite que el alumno se reconozca como un sujeto pensante y es, sin duda, la dimensión que inspira a muchas personas que buscan introducir en el aula un espacio para que los alumnos tomen la palabra y discutan. Desde mi punto de vista, una gran parte de la explicación de la distancia entre la aplicación del proyecto filosóficopedagógico inicial de Lipman, y la aplicación que Brenifier atestigua, tiene que ver con el hecho de que las modalidades de formación y apoyo a los enseñantes hayan sido a menudo descuidados. En muchos lugares, donde acordaron poner en práctica el programa, se contó con voluntarios sin que las autoridades escolares locales se preocuparan con las condiciones necesarias para su aplicación. Pero no es sólo un problema de la cultura filosófica, como Brenifier parece evaluar.
