De plus en plus, la faim et la malnutrition sont abordees a travers le prisme de la securite alimentaire. Or, selon nous, une serie de processus contemporains ont contribue a depolitiser ce concept. Par ailleurs, le « mouvement alimentaire alternatif » (alternative food movement), qui s’est developpe en reponse a l’augmentation de l’insecurite alimentaire, n’a pas su traiter de facon adequate les inegalites deja profondement ancrees dans le systeme alimentaire, et, dans certains cas, en a produit de nouvelles. Par consequent, la question de l’inegalite de l’acces a une alimentation suffisante, sure et nutritive est restee en grande partie dans l’ombre. En s’appuyant sur l’exemple d’un projet de glanage communautaire elabore en Colombie-Britannique, au Canada, cet article interroge la facon dont une « praxis » de justice alimentaire peut contribuer a renforcer les capacites communautaires afin d’influencer les politiques publiques d’aide alimentaire, tout en donnant plus de visibilite aux questions de justice alimentaire. Le concept de « praxis » est entendu ici comme unite de l’action et de la reflexion, mais aussi comme outil de transformation du monde. Nous avancons le postulat qu’une « praxis » de justice alimentaire, lorsqu’integree dans un projet communautaire tel que le Programme de recolte collaborative (Collaborative Harvest Program) a Kelowna en Colombie-Britannique, permet de developper des systemes alimentaires democratiques, participatifs et equitables de facon beaucoup plus efficace que ne le fait la demarche depolitisee de securite alimentaire.
