Abstract
Antecedentes: la embarazada normal tiene modificaciones de su presion arterial que no sobrepasan los limites esperados dentro de los cambios fisiologicos, cualquier elevacion por encima de la normalidad causa morbimortalidad. En la practica utilizamos los valores de la Guia de Practica sobre Trastornos hipertensivos del embarazo adaptada de Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada porque no contamos con una curva de la presion arterial en nuestras embarazadas. Objetivo: determinar la variabilidad de la presion arterial en una poblacion de embarazadas normales de la ciudad de Cuenca. Metodologia: estudio descriptivo, longitudinal; realizado en consulta externa de 8 centros del Sistema Nacional de Salud de Cuenca. La presion fue medida desde la 12a hasta la 40a semana. Se elaboro una curva de presion arterial: sistolica, diastolica y media. Resultados: participaron 338 embarazadas, la presion arterial sistolica 96.24 ± 8.36 unidades Torr (rango 70 – 122), diastolica 60.18 ± 7.35 (rango 40 – 81) y media 72.12 ± 6.92 (rango 50 – 93). La curva de presion arterial sistolica muestra un ascenso hasta la 38a semana, mientras la curva de presion arterial diastolica muestra un comportamiento irregular que termina en ascenso hasta el final de la 40a semana y la curva de presion arterial media muestra un comportamiento en ascenso mas notorio hasta la 38a semana. Conclusion: los promedios de presion arterial muestran un aumento progresivo con respecto del final del embarazo que concuerda con el fundamento teorico, pero, limites inferiores a los establecidos como patron de referencia.
