Introduction : L'abcès profond est une infection résultant de la rupture de la barrière anatomique permettant le développement de bactéries produisant du pus. Le pus est formé par des granulocytes neutrophiles, des cellules mortes, des débris et des compléments des tissus nécrotiques. L'abcès peut siéger sous la peau, dans les ganglions, organes, et leurs gravités est fonction de leurs localisations. Une antibiothérapie puissante et adaptée est essentielle, afin d'éviter le risque d'impasse thérapeutique. Objectifs : - Déterminer les principales bactéries isolées à partir des pus profonds et leur comportement vis-à-vis des antibiotiques utilisés. - Rapporter les principales infections qui s'accompagnent de pus profonds recensés dans les services de l'HMIMV. Matériel et méthodes : Etude descriptive, rétrospective menée au laboratoire de Microbiologie de l'HMIMV. Elle s'étend sur toute l'année 2010. Sont inclus tous les prélèvements purulents analysés. L'uniformisation des données a été faite sur logiciel Microsoft Office Excel{AF}. L'exploitation a été réalisée sur SPSS version 18.0{AF}. Résultats : 362 prélèvements purulents ont été recueillis en 2010 à partir de différents services. La majorité des prélèvements provenaient du service de la chirurgie viscérale et thoracique (16.8%). Les services pourvoyeurs étaient l'accueil (13.9%), la traumato-orthopédie (11,7%),' Nous avons isolé diverses bactéries, dont 13.5% sont des Escherichia coli, 10% des Staphylococcus aureus, 6.9% des Streptocoques alpha hémolytique, 6.6% des Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 3.7% des Enterococcus faecalis groupe D. Conclusion : Lors de la prescription des antibiotiques, le médecin doit être sensibilisé sur le bon usage de ces médicaments, l'application des procédures d'hygiène, et l'élaboration d'un réseau de surveillance des résistances bactériennes sont vivement conseillées.
