Hintergrund: Interleukin 11 hat sich in Tiermodellen chronisch entzündlicher Darmerkrankungen als wirksam erwiesen. In einer Studie an Patienten mit Morbus Crohn konnte rekombinantes humanes Interleukin 11 (rhIl–11) in einer Subgruppe von Patienten eine Remission erzielen. Ziel der aktuellen Studie war der Vergleich von rhIl–11 mit Prednisolon in der Remissionsinduktion bei Patienten mit leichter bis mittlerer Aktivität ihres Morbus Crohn (MC).
