Abstract
Il termine “neomelodico” definisce un genere musicale e estetico dominante il mediascape Napoletano fin dagli anni Novanta. Le produzioni neomelodiche esprimono narrative di gusto glocal che si propongono di rappresentare le esperienze di soggetti Napoletani marginali, con una predilezione per quelli coinvolti in attività criminali. Nonostante lo stato di disoccupazione endemica strutturante le condizioni di vita di buona parte della lower class partenopea, l’industria neomelodica profitta milioni di euro ogni anno. Di fatto, la maggior parte di questi denari fluisce nelle tasche del crimine locale. Esponenti della Camorra investono quantità rilevanti di capitale economico e sociale nell’industria neomelodica, influenzandone forme, valore economico e significato socio-culturale. Questo articolo analizza l’intrecciarsi di estetica, economia politica e cultura neomelodica allo scopo di esemplificarne le implicazioni nel contesto dell’Italia neoliberale. Si propone di farlo attraverso l’esplorazione di estetiche commerciali coadiuvanti il radicamento del crimine organizzato nello spazio socio-culturale Napoletano.
