Abstract
L’etude propose une definition de la notion de « valorisation » lorsque celle-ci est utilisee dans le domaine de l’exploitation des resultats de l’activite scientifique. Dotee d’une forte consonance economique, la notion de valorisation est desormais consacree par la loi et constitue aujourd’hui une mission cardinale des etablissements publics de recherche scientifique. En tant que levier de la politique d’innovation europeenne et francaise, elle intervient cependant en contradiction avec l’autre mission de diffusion et de partage des connaissances scientifiques. Cette contradiction ne peut etre surmontee qu’au prix d’une definition large de la notion qui couvrirait ainsi les actes consistant a mettre en valeur les creations scientifiques soit a travers leur diffusion ouverte, soit a travers leur reservation privative.
