Lalumière n'en sont pas à leur première collaboration en duo.On a pu voir leur travail à articule en 2010 avec l'intervention Retourne-moi / Invert Me Out.Les deux artistes s'étaient alors employés à recréer une version inversée de la devanture du commerce voisin, la Maison du peintre, en reproduisant minutieusement tous les produits présentés en vitrine, les revêtements extérieurs ainsi que l'enseigne de la boutique à même la façade de la galerie.Avec Avenir Avenue (Prequel), les artistes prennent d'assaut la grande salle de CLARK en y disposant des barrières à ruban rétractable habituellement utilisées pour contenir et orienter les gens dans différents contextes.Les artistes créent ainsi un dispositif-piège qui remet en question les usages courants en ce qui a trait à la mise en exposition des œuvres en galerie et à la circulation des visiteurs.Pour accéder à l'exposition, le visiteur doit suivre un parcours déterminé par les artistes, sorte de passage obligé vers l'inconnu, qui dirige le regard et le corps.Le visiteur a peu de recul pour voir les œuvres et doit constamment faire attention où il met les pieds pendant qu'il les examine.Et, bien qu'au premier abord une direction semble donnée à ce parcours, il n'y a ni début/entrée ni fin/ sortie à cette proposition déambulatoire qui joue sur les contradictions.
