Abstract
Eugenia dysenterica Dc. da familia Myrtaceae mais popularmente conhecida com “cagaita” e uma arvore frutifera presente no Cerrado. Estando presente na savana mais rica em biodiversidade mundial conhecida como hotspot. Este trabalho teve por objetivo fazer uma descricao anatomica preliminar para embasar futuros trabalhos desta especie. O material botânico foi coletado na Universidade Federal do Tocantins no Campus de Gurupi. As folhas foram coletadas no quarto no do terco mediano da copa e fixadas em FAA 70% por 48h e conservadas em etanol 70%, obtidas areas de 5x5(mm) nervura central e bordo do limbo e logo desidratadas em serie etilica e embebidas e emblocadas em parafina P.A. Cortes transversais foram obtidos em microtomo rotativo e corados em Azul de Astra e Safranina. Apos a montagem das laminas com balsamo-do-canada, foram secaram ao ar livre por 48h, estas foram fotografadas em microscopio otico. Em sua estrutura anatomica pode-se observar a presenca do xilema e o floema tanto na parte adaxial como abaxial, e demonstra um feixe tipo bicolateral. As cavidades secretoras formando glândulas distribuem-se ao longo de toda a extensao da lâmina foliar, presentes tambem nas faces abaxial e adaxial. Este estudo e importante para conservacao, manejo e domesticacao da especie.
