Envisageant comme paliers de complexité non seulement le morphème et la lexie, mais aussi le texte et le discours eux-mêmes, cet article mobilise, pour l’essentiel, les cadres théoriques de la sémiotique de l’énonciation. Il cherche à préciser le rôle que le paradigme joue dans l’élaboration textuelle et discursive en s’intéressant, d’une part, aux pressions modélisantes exercées par le paradigme et, d’autre part, au mouvement de la paradigmatisation interne au texte et au discours, qui fait émerger des paradigmes discursifs. Ainsi, l’article vise non seulement à réinterroger le principe de rationalité qui sous-tend la décision de mettre en avant le paradigme, mais à capter une dynamique. D’un côté, il s’agit de dépasser une vue statique du paradigme au profit d’une conception qui accepte l’idée du continu et de la gradualité des oppositions. De l’autre, il importe de montrer en quoi le paradigme peut intégrer les produits de l’usage (praxis énonciative). Quant au mouvement de la paradigmatisation, il est abordé sous l’angle de la reformulation.L’auteur met en avant les termes suivants : dynamicité, gradualité, énonciation, modélisation, paradigmatisation, paradigme discursif.
