Les insulaires et le "vieil Macrobe" les accueillent. L'dition partielle du Quart Livre publie en 1548 s'achve sur cette rencontre. Par ailleurs, l'dition complte de 1 552' donne suite au rcit et dveloppe non seulement ce qui nous semble le thme central des chapitres 25 28 mais aussi une problmati- que de tout premier intrt la Renaissance: le salut de l'homme li l'ex- ercice des vertus civiles.
