Abstract
La promocion de la Salud, segun lo establecen las Cartas de Ottawa y Yakarta, es un proceso mediante el cual las personas, familias y comunidades logran mejorar su nivel de salud al asumir un mayor control sobre si mismas, incluyendo las acciones de educacion, prevencion y fomento de la salud, donde la poblacion actua coordinadamente en favor de politicas, sistemas y estilos de vida saludables, por medio de la abogacia, empoderamiento y construccion de un sistema de soporte social que le permita vivir mas sanamente, el fomento de estilos de vida saludables y de la corresponsabilidad ciudadana para mantener y preservar la salud y el ambiente. Con este proposito, el Ministerio de Salud Publica y Asistencia Social, presenta la “Normativa Nacional de Promocion y Prevencion en Salud”, que incorpora las estrategias, lineamientos tecnicos para favorecer el abordaje integral e integrador en sus diferentes ambitos de accion institucional e interinstitucional, con la participacion activa de las personas, familias, comunidad, municipalidades, autoridades y lideres locales, instituciones del Sector Salud y otros sectores, asi como con la articulacion y alianzas con organismos de cooperacion externa, en base a las prioridades y desafios nacionales en salud.
