Problématique : Le raisonnement clinique est l’une des thématiques de recherche les plus prolifiques dans le domaine de l’éducation médicale. Il a essentiellement été étudié selon une perspective cognitiviste, qui a conduit à l’émergence des principaux concepts et théories qui guident aujourd’hui nos pratiques d’enseignement. Depuis plusieurs années, une perspective complémentaire, de nature sociocognitiviste, tend à prendre de l’importance. Elle permet d’appréhender le raisonnement comme le fruit d’interactions entre un individu et son environnement. Exégèse : Des travaux réalisés en médecine d’urgence selon cette perspective ont permis de mettre en évidence l’influence qu’ont les autres soignants et les patients sur le raisonnement clinique des médecins. Les résultats ont fait l’objet d’une présentation à l’occasion de la troisième Conférence internationale de Montréal sur le raisonnement clinique, dont cette tribune est un résumé.
