Abstract
La bande dessinee est un genre ou un art dans lequel l’image (le dessin) et l’ecrit se mettent ensemble et se melent intimement pour raconter une seule et meme histoire. S’interessant a sa construction et a son fonctionnement, Thierry Groensteen la percoit comme un ‘’systeme’’, cree par la « combinatoire originale d’une (ou deux, avec l’ecrit) matiere(s) de l’expression, et d’un ensemble de codes», qui demande a son lecteur de trouver en son sein « une voie d’acces […] qui permette de l’explorer dans sa totalite et d’en faire apparaitre la coherence» ; point de vue qui met en exergue les difficultes que semble intimement porter la bande dessinee. Difficultes qui lui ont longtemps valu d’etre consideree comme puerile avant de gagner ses lettres de noblesse. En arguant la cinquantaine d’annees de pratiques de cet art en Afrique, peut-on pretendre a l’existence d’une bande dessinee typiquement africaine ? Une tentative de lecture de la constitution d’un champ de la bande dessinee africaine francophone en prenant pour preuve les differentes productions qu’elle comprend ne se solderait-elle pas en une aventure aussi perilleuse que celle qu’offre deja le champ litteraire africain ? Cet etat de faits suscite l’interrogation suivante : « Marguerite Abouet : une (im)posture dans la bande dessinee africainefrancophone ? »
