Abstract
Roland Topor, l'homme qui ne riait pas Témoignage de Laurent Gervereau C'est une situation qui n'est pas forcément facile que celle de conclure, dans ma position, où la relation personnelle que j'avais avec Roland Topor ne peut pas être totalement à l'extérieur de mes propos -et ne doit pas l'être car cela manquerait, je crois, à cette journée 1 .Il est vrai qu'en voyant toutes ces images, j'ai souvent pensé à des circonstances, des moments, des discussions et des relations personnelles que nous avons eues, lui et moi, depuis les années 1980.Ce qui est terrible, c'est la propension que nous avons, quand les gens ont disparu, à les faire parler.C'est facile et pervers.Les morts sont instrumentalisés.Ils deviennent des faire-valoir des vivants. L'esprit de sérieuxPersonne n'a le droit de parler au nom de Roland Topor.Mais, je vais quand même le faire ; c'est une tentation.La question que je me suis posée, en effet, en visitant l'exposition de la BNF, ou lors de cette journée, c'est : si Roland était là, que penserait-il de tout ça ?Et si j'ai intitulé ma contribution « Roland Topor, l'homme qui ne riait pas », c'est parce que je pense qu'il aurait été très heureux d'être pris au sérieux, que son œuvre soit considérée dans une institution, et d'avoir une reconnaissance institutionnelle.Je le pense sincèrement.
