Transmetteurs de connaissances, d'habilets, mais aussi de culture, les individus qui choisissent de devenir enseignants en formation professionnelle (FP) se trouvent au coeur de la formation des travailleurs des mtiers spcialiss et semispcialiss au Qubec (Deschenaux et Roussel, 2010; Ministre de l'ducation du Qubec [MEQ], 2001). Alors qu'ils oprent la transition du mtier qu'ils occupent vers son enseignement dans les centres de formation professionnelle, l'importance de l' exprience et de l'identit de mtier sont des caractristiques reconnues comme base de leur enseignement Toutefois, qu' en est-il des valeurs hrites de la carrire initiale et des motivations qu' elles soustendent? Il est dit que les valeurs se consolident travers les expriences antrieures motivant les comportements, les attitudes et les dcisions des personnes Il apparait donc pertinent de s'y intresser pour mieux comprendre et appuyer la phase cruciale d'insertion dans la carrire enseignante Le projet de mmoire rsum dans le prsent article a identifi les valeurs d' enseignants en FP. Il est dcrit sous l'angle des motivations que sous-tendent ces valeurs et des rles qu' elles remplissent dans le dveloppement de leur nouvelle identit d' enseignant.
