Abstract
O presente estudo tem como objetivo perceber se doentes esquizofrénicos apresentam dificuldades na tomada de decisão e se as respostas emocionais desajustadas interferem na tomada de decisão dos mesmos. Método:72 participantes, divididos em dois grupos (experimental e controlo). O grupo experimental é constituído por 36 participantes, dos quais 63,9% (N= 23) são do sexo masculino e 36,1% (N=13) são do sexo feminino, sendo a idade mínima de 25 anos e a máxima de 55 anos (M= 41.31, DP= 7.822). O grupo de controlo é constituído por 36 participantes do serviço de ortopedia, dos quais 58,3% (N=21) são do sexo masculino e 41,7% (N=15) são do sexo feminino, sendo a idade mínima de 25 anos e a máxima de 55 anos (M= 41.14, DP= 8.033). Os instrumentos neuropsicológicos utilizados foram o Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) e uma escala de Emoções, Sensações e Cognições (EESC96). O Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) foi utilizado apenas para despistar possíveis défices cognitivos. Resultados: os resultados obtidos permitiram verificar que doentes esquizofrénicos apresentam dificuldades nos processos decisórios, confirmando assim uma das hipóteses em estudo, No entanto, os resultados obtidos na escala de emoções não foi suficiente para confirmar a segunda hipótese em estudo, isto é, se respostas emocionais desajustadas desempenham um papel importante na decisão dos mesmos.
