Les artistes ont depuis longtemps été sollicités pour illustrer les avancées de l’anatomie scientifique, mais rares sont les scientifiques qui se sont aventurés sur le terrain des arts. Or nous sommes de plus en plus conviés à des expositions délocalisées où s’exposent des cadavres et des images du corps humain produites par des imageries médicales. Bien que ces manifestations soient présentées comme des activités pédagogiques et artistiques, ces technologies proposent une certaine déréalisation du corps qui touche aussi aux lieux qui les accueillent. Non seulement assistons-nous à une perturbation des relations disciplinaires (entre arts et sciences), mais aussi à une délocalisation des lieux de mémoire (musées, site web, etc.) qui soutiennent de telles représentations. Que peut-on en penser ? Est-ce l’expression d’une réappropriation des œuvres d’art, la consolidation des avancées d’un certain consumérisme du corps à travers les arts ? Il n’en demeure pas moins que les associations entre le corps et les technologies tendent à se consolider à partir de la réification du lien que la tradition occidentale a établi entre le voir et la vérité. Regarde-t-on encore le corps ou confirme-t-on une tradition, si ce n’est une métaphysique ?
