Estudo do impacto da substituição do R22 em um ciclo de refrigeração

Abstract
O clorodifluorometano, R22 ou HCFC22, é um refrigerante amplamente utilizado em sistemas de refrigeração em geral, atualmente sendo mais empregado nos países em desenvolvimento. Entretanto, a utilização em larga escala de HCFCs causa severos danos à camada de ozônio. O Protocolo de Montreal é um tratado internacional que visa à erradicaçãp do uso dessas substâncias. Tendo em vista esta realidade, é proposto um estudo de viabilidade técnica para troca do R22 por outro fluido refrigerante no sistema de refrigeração por compressão da Oxiteno Nordeste S/A, situada no Polo Petroquímico Sul. O sistema foi modelado no software EES e o modelo foi validado através de uma comparação com os dados de operação obtidos da planta petroquímica. Após a validação, outros fluidos refrigerantes foram simulados no programa, dentre eles HFCs, hidrocarbonetos e substâncias naturais. Amônia se mostrou o fluido mais eficiente por causa de suas propriedades termodinâmicas, porém é incompatível com a atual unidade de refrigeração devido às suas restrições de operação. Para uma ação mais imediata e visando-se não trocar nenhum equipamento, a melhor alternativa é o uso do refrigerante R134a. Para um futuro investimento, a melhor situação seria a aquisição de uma unidade de refrigeração operando com amônia.
