Dans cet article, nous présentons une étude de perception sur la question de la norme de prononciation québécoise. L’étude remet en question l’hypothèse traditionnelle autour de la norme de prononciation du français postulant qu’au contraire des autres langues de grande extension le français n’aurait qu’un seul centre normatif (Paris). Cette problématique est abordée dans le cadre théorique de la linguistique perceptive des variétés et sur la base d’une enquête empirique sur les représentations et attitudes (perceptives) de 101 locuteurs québécois et montréalais par rapport à quatre stimuli représentant des locuteurs-modèles du Québec, de la Suisse romande et de Paris. Les résultats indiquent qu’actuellement, en plus de la prononciation parisienne, une prononciation régionale québécoise faiblement marquée bénéficierait non plus seulement d’un prestige latent , mais également d’un prestige manifeste , des résultats impliquant une redéfinition nécessaire du concept de norme de référence , qui ne se veut non plus de nature monocentrique, mais bien pluricentrique.
