Abstract
Lorsque l’auteur d’un roman et un traducteur travaillent ensemble, cela crée une situation unique, fondée sur la créativité et l’interprétation. Cet article expose les différents étais et états d’une telle entreprise littéraire, et examine la collaboration de l’auteur et du traducteur dans la production de trois versions successives de deux passages du roman De troublants détours (Sanconie 2004). Chaque version représente le matériau du pont créatif qui symbolise la distance entre les textes source et cible. L’auteur et le traducteur sont temporairement suspendus dans cet espace créatif où l’un et l’autre attendent leurs commentaires réciproques sur les étapes de la traduction. L’alliance de l’auteur et du traducteur crée un nouvel espace où les textes source et cible convergent et cohabitent en dépit de leur altérité. La nouvelle traduction, en tant que création, est le produit d’un recyclage des différentes versions ainsi que de négociations impliquant la narration et les stratégies de représentation et d’interprétation, dans des circonstances et selon des paramètres qui repoussent les frontières de la traduction classique.
