Abstract
Cet article présente les résultats d’une enquête de terrain menée auprès de 25 acteurs du monde de l’art sur 20 mois (avril 2015 – novembre 2016) au sujet du positionnement professionnel des artistes des arts numériques. Fruit d’une coopération interdisciplinaire entre sociologues et chercheurs en sciences de la communication, cette enquête prolonge une étude de cas réalisée en France sur 12 mois (janvier 2013 – janvier 2014) auprès de 12 acteurs du NetArt. Cette première enquête avait mis en évidence un cycle du positionnement professionnel des artistes qui passe par trois étapes : 1) la mobilisation d’un public varié et aussi nombreux que possible, 2) leur participation au travail de l’artiste, et 3) la valorisation de l’œuvre d’art auprès des secteurs économiques de l’innovation numérique. Notre dernière enquête comparative franco-allemande confirme les étapes principales de ce cycle en France comme en Allemagne. Il prend toutefois un sens différent en France et en Allemagne. Pour les répondants français, il relève du lien à maintenir entre arts numériques et art contemporain. Pour les répondants allemands en revanche, il doit s’établir en dehors d’un lien fort à l’art contemporain.
