Abstract
L'enthousiasme semble rgner pendant les Golden Sixties japonaises : croissance conomique considrable, augmentation du confort domestique parmi la population, organisation des Jeux Olympiques de Tky en 1964, retour du pays sur la scne internationale aprs la dfaite de 1945. L'euphorie ambiante n'est pourtant pas partage par tous, notamment du ct des organisations de gauche qui contestent ds 1959 la reconduction du trait de scurit entre les Etats-Unis et le Japon, prvue pour 1960. A l'approche de la rengociation du trait en 1970, les grves et manifestations se multiplient, amplifies par les rvoltes tudiantes de 1968-1969 et l'opposition la construction de l'aroport international de Narita. C'est dans ce contexte agit que vont se tenir plusieurs expositions d'importance, modifiant en profondeur le monde de l'art japonais et son rapport l'Occident au tournant de l'anne 1970.
