Abstract
Neoliberal evrede medyada yasanan donusumler, demokrasilerde yasanan donusumle yakindan iliskilidir. David Harvey’nin “zapt/mulksuzlestirme yoluyla birikim” olarak kavramsallastirdigi neoliberal donemin sermaye birikim pratikleri, medya endustrilerinin ekonomi-politigine ve medya teorilerine neoliberal donusumun cercevesinden yeniden bakmayi gerekli kilmaktadir. Zapt/ mulksuzlestirme yoluyla birikim, siddetin neoliberal donemde sermaye birikim pratiklerinin ve kâr maksimizasyonunun yapisal bir parcasi oldugunu netlestirmektedir. Medya ve siddet iliskisini ele alan onemli kuramlardan biri George Gerbner’in “ekme teorisi”dir. Ekme teorisi ile Gerbner, televizyonun basat hikaye anlaticisi olarak, dunyayla kurdugumuz iliskiye etkilerini tartismaktaydi. Geleneksel medyanin bir teorisi olan ekme teorisinin mutlu siddet, acimasiz dunya sendromu ve ikinci derece etkiler gibi bazi kavramlari, bu makalede ekonomi-politik bir baglama oturtularak tartisilacaktir. Bu ekonomi-politik baglam, neoliberalizmi sadece ekonomik bir teori olarak degil, politik bir teori olarak da goren Harvey, Foucault, Dardot ve Laval gibi dusunurler ile Gerbner’in teorisi ve kavramlari arasinda iliski kurularak ele alinacaktir. Bu kavramlarin kuresel, finansal ve dijital medya caginda bugun nasil tartisilabilecegi uzerine yeniden dusunulecektir. Gerbner’in kavramlarini ekonomi-politik bir baglamda okumak, gunumuzde (ister neoliberalizmin bir krizi, istersek onun varabilecegi olagan bir durak olarak okuyalim) demokrasilerdeki degisim ile birlikte ele alinmasi gereken ana akim medyada yasanan donusumu anlamak adina son derece onemli bir kavrayis sunmaktadir.
