Abstract
En 2000, au Senegal, chez les enfants de moins de cinq ans, la prevalence palustre est de 30%, tandis qu'en 2001 la morbidite palustre proportionnelle est de 33,6% (PNLP ; 2009). Les resultats de notre etude sur la prevalence du paludisme chez les enfants de moins de cinq ans au Senegal montrent que celle-ci baisse significativement passant de 30% en 2000 a 5,6% en 2008. Plus specifiquement, a travers cette etude nous montrons que la prevalence du paludisme baisse significativement chez les enfants de moins d'un an. La prevalence du paludisme chez les enfants de moins de cinq ans au Senegal est significativement en relation avec leur milieu de residence, le niveau d'aisance economique des parents, le niveau d'instruction de la mere. Davantage de menages possedent des moustiques impregnees. L'automedication est en progression, tandis que la medecine traditionnelle continue d'exister. Les combinaisons therapeutiques d'artemisinine (CTA) qui constituent en l'etat actuelle meilleur traitement ne sont pas souvent administrees aux enfants.
