Abstract

Cet article vise à exposer comment deux types de « recherche avec », menés auprès de personnes déficientes intellectuelles dans deux pays différents, au Canada et en France, participent à la production de connaissances transcendant les particularités locales et nationales. L’examen critique de l’inclusion, qui préside à l’insertion sociale des personnes déficientes intellectuelles, a incité les deux chercheurs à mener avec ces personnes une « recherche avec », définie par la participation active des acteurs de terrain impliqués et la considération de leurs perceptions, indispensables à la production de connaissances scientifiques. La présentation des champs disciplinaire, théorique et méthodologique de chaque chercheur clarifie la place attribuée dans leurs recherches aux expériences et aux savoirs des personnes classées déficientes intellectuelles. Les résultats des deux recherches montrent une continuité dans l’itinéraire de ces personnes. La comparaison de ces deux « recherches avec » soulignent leurs similarités, leurs différences, leur complémentarité et leur potentielle bonification mutuelle.
