Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The combination of physical activity and cognitive training may have a greater effect on cognitive performance then either alone (Eggenberger et al., 2015). Physical exercise when combined with music has been demonstrated to have more positive effects on cognitive function in elderly people than exercise alone (Satoh et al., 2014). Jazzercise is one of the world's leading group dance fitness program lead by certified instructors. New dance routines to music are created every 8 weeks and this learning represents a form of cognitive training during exercise. We hypothesized that 6 months of Jazzercise will improve physical fitness, cognitive function, gait parameters, and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) measures of the brain in sedentary post-menopausal women with Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCI). Nine well-characterized, sedentary, postmenopausal women over the age of 55 years with SCI have been recruited to-date. Participants were asked to choose two Jazzercise classes per week and encouraged to increase participation to up to 3-5 classes per week by the end of 3 months and continue to 6 months. Measures include 6 minute walk test, dual task gait parameters, neuropsychological tests, 3 Tesla DTI (30 directions, b-value = 1000) and H MRS (echo-time = 135 ms) in the motor cortex and posterior cingulate regions at baseline, and 6 months. The initial MRI Blood and Fitbit recordings for future analysis have been obtained. All nine participants successfully completed the baseline measures and began Jazzercise training. Baseline metabolite ratios, diffusion measurements, and cognitive measures were completed in all subjects. The mean age was 66 with a range of 55-75. Adherence was excellent with most participants reaching the goal of 3-5 classes/week. There were no significant associations between metabolite ratios and cognitive scores. Glutamine to creatine ratio was significantly correlated with fractional anisotropy in the left singulum following correction for multiple comparisons. This pilot study demonstrates the feasibility of Jazzercise as an intervention in postmenopausal women and the measurement of brain metabolism, structure, and function.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
