Se realizó el diseño y la implementación de un sistema de control para las bombas de despacho de gasolina extra en el Terminal Beaterio de Petrocomercial. La infraestructura del sistema cuenta con cuatro tanques de almacenamiento de combustible, cinco bombas y cuatro brazos de carga destinados para este producto. Cuando el sistema está en funcionamiento usa un tanque, dos bombas y los cuatro brazos de carga. \nPor cada dos brazos de carga se usa un controlador Accuload III, el cual controla el volumen y el flujo a través de los brazos de carga mediante válvulas electro-hidráulicas, y envía señales discretas que indican el flujo requerido en los brazos a un PLC Modicon Momentum (ubicado en cada isla de carga). \nUn PLC Modicon Quantum se comunica con los PLCs Modicon Momentum a través de una red Modbus Plus y controla el accionamiento de las bombas. Para el accionamiento de las bombas se utiliza un variador de velocidad y contactores. \nAdemás se realizó dos HMI en Intouch y en Vijeo-Designer los cuales permiten la interacción del operador con el sistema, y una base de datos con el fin de supervisar los despachos realizados. \nLos resultados obtenidos en este proyecto permiten un ahorro de energía del 24% con respecto al antiguo sistema, la eliminación del golpe de ariete durante el encendido y apagado de las bombas y menores requerimientos de mantenimiento
