Avec des recettes touristiques internationales atteignant 445 milliards de dollars américains 3 , le tourisme représente aujourd'hui la première industrie mondiale.Et la croissance continue.De 1980 à 1998, donc en moins de 20 ans, les arrivées de touristes internationaux à l'échelle mondiale ont plus que doublé pour dépasser les 625 millions et les recettes touristiques internationales ont plus que quadruplé 4 .De même, les perspectives de croissance sont excellentes avec des prévisions de 1,18 milliard d'arrivées de touristes internationaux en 2010 5 .Le Québec ne fait pas exception à cette vague de fond.Son industrie touristique s'est dynamisée ces dernières années, principalement grâce aux marchés internationaux.En effet, les recettes touristiques internationales ont augmenté de 50% sur son territoire de 1993 à 1996 6 , en raison notamment de la croissance exceptionnelle du marché français.Soulignons que l'industrie du tourisme au Québec représente 7 :
