El Trabajo Especial de Grado (TEG) es un tipo de documento primario que constituye una rica fuente de informacion sobre un area de investigacion abordada, ademas, contiene elementos que pueden ser estudiados a traves de la bibliometria, sin embargo, en Venezuela no se han encontrado estudios bibliometricos enfocados a los TEG de pregrado en el area de odontologia. Por esta razon, el objetivo de la presente investigacion es identificar el comportamiento de indicadores bibliometricos de los trabajos especiales de grado de pregrado de la Facultad de Odontologia de la Universidad de Los Andes (FOULA) 2005-2017. Esta fue una investigacion descriptiva, de diseno documental. El material de analisis estuvo conformado por los TEG de pregrado de la FOULA durante el periodo 2005-2017, en los cuales se describieron los indicadores de produccion por ano calendario, el indicador de contenido tematico y el indicador metodologico. Se realizaron 515 TEG, el area de estudio con mayor actividad fue la periodoncia con 60, el tipo de citas fue distribuido entre 263 con APA y 252 con Vancouver, el promedio referencias fue de 51 por TEG, predomina el tipo de investigacion descriptiva con 277, el diseno no experimental con 149, la tecnica de recoleccion por observacion con 321 y el analisis de los datos descriptivos con 265. Este estudio muestra que la produccion de los TEG en la FOULA es significativa en comparacion a otros trabajos en universidades de odontologia a nivel internacional.
