El Dr. Arturo Bouzas Riano nacio en Xalapa, Ver. Cursaria la carrera de psicologia en el Colegio de Psicologia de la Facultad de Filosofia y Letras de la UNAM, en donde participaria en el impulso y la consolidacion de la psicologia experimental en la UNAM. Enseno psicologia experimental en la Facultad de Psicologia de la Universidad Veracruzana. Realizo estudios de posgrado en la Universidad Estatal de Nueva York y de Doctorado en la Universidad de Harvard, asi como un posdoctorado en la Universidad de Toronto. Ha obtenido los mayores reconocimientos por parte de la comunidad cientifica a nivel nacional e internacional lo mismo que en la UNAM, siendo el de Director de la Facultad de Psicologia (1997- 2001) acaso el mas significativo. En esta charla nos da a conocer un poco de su vida familiar y su infancia, asi como de la decision de estudiar psicologia, de su vida estudiantil en la UNAM, su experiencia en Xalapa, asi como su regreso a Mexico en 1974. Tambien nos habla de los contrastes en la ensenanza de la psicologia entre los sistemas universitarios de EEUU y Mexico, del estado actual de la disciplina y de la formacion del psicologo.
