Resumo: Estudo qualitativo que objetivou descrever a rede de apoio de familiares de crianças atendidas em pronto atendimento infantil de um município do Sul do Brasil. Os dados foram coletados com 10 familiares cuidadores de crianças atendidas em dois prontos atendimentos pediátricos no ano de 2012, residentes na zona urbana de um município do sul do Brasil. Os resultados apontaram duas categorias: Rede de apoio de familiares de crianças menores de cinco anos na busca pelo pronto atendimento; e, Condutas dos familiares mediante os problemas de saúde da criança. Concluiu-se que a rede de apoio é constituída pela família e pelo profissional médico do serviço de atenção hospitalar e que, os familiares utilizam-se do saber profissional em detrimento do saber popular.Palavras-chave: Saúde da Criança; Enfermagem Pediátrica; Acesso aos Serviços de Saúde. Network of support for families of children in pediatric emergency departmentAbstract: A qualitative study aimed at describing the support network of family members of children assisted in early child care in a municipality in the south of Brazil. The data were collected with 10 family caregivers of children attended in two pediatric consultations in 2012, living in the urban zone of a city in the south of Brazil. The results showed two categories: Support network of relatives of children under five in the search for emergency care; And, Actions of family members through the health problems of the child. It was concluded that the support network is made up of the family and the medical professional of the hospital care service and that family members use professional knowledge to the detriment of popular knowledge.Keywords: Child Health; Pediatric Nursing; Health Services Accessibility.
