La venue de la loi 10 dans le réseau de la santé et des services sociaux a mené à une restructuration majeure des services dans l’ensemble de la province (Assemblée nationale du Québec, 2014). En Abitibi-Témiscamingue (A.-T.), cette nouvelle législation a généré la fusion de plusieurs secteurs exigeant aux employés de s’adapter à une nouvelle structure et à des pratiques professionnelles différentes. Pour certains intervenants travaillant dans les services en déficience intellectuelle (DI) et en trouble du spectre de l’autisme (TSA), ce changement dans l’exercice des fonctions habituelles a été combiné à l’implantation d’un nouveau programme de formation offert aux parents d’enfants ayant un TSA. Ainsi, pour être en mesure d’appuyer les nouvelles pratiques, l’approche de codéveloppement professionnel de Payette et Champagne (1997) a été mise en place pour répondre aux besoins de soutien puisqu’il s’agit d’une des retombées démontrées de cette méthode (Sabourin et Lefebvre, 2017). L’étude présentée dans ce mémoire visait à décrire les effets d’un groupe de codéveloppement professionnel (GCP) auprès d’intervenants implantant un nouveau programme de formation pour les parents d’enfants ayant un TSA. Par l’évaluation des conditions de succès du GCP (Payette et Champagne, 1997), de la demande psychologique au travail (Karasek, 1979), du soutien social perçu (Bruchon-Schweitzer, 2002) et des stratégies d’adaptation (Lazarus et Folkman, 1984), les résultats ont démontré que les participants ont développé de nouveaux apprentissages et des habiletés communicationnelles telles que l’écoute. Les conclusions témoignent, entre autres, de la pertinence de participer à un GCP dans un contexte de changement de pratiques professionnelles.
