Abstract
The artwork that represents article 1800156 by Kam C. Tam and co-workers illustrates the production of cellulose nanomaterials by plants. This sustainable nanomaterial can be combined with naturally occurring compounds, such as cinnamon, to impart UV-resistant properties. The illustration shows these compounds' use in cosmetics as sunscreen, and as polymeric films in car windows to shield the passengers from damaging UV radiation, while permitting visible light to penetrate the film and the sunscreen. This concept ties into the sustainable development of materials from nature to improve the circumstances of mankind.
