Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This article analyzed The Stratford Shakespeare Festival as a model of culture city, studying the origin and history of the festival as well as its effects on the city. The aim of this article is to suggest the desirable direction of developing a city in post-industrial era by means of urban humanities. The Stratford Festival, which is formerly known as The Stratford Shakespeare Festival is an international and prominent arts festival in Canada. The festival is held annually in Stratford, Ontario which is a very small city and the population of which is just about 30,000. It became a world-famous performance festival which attracts about 6 hundred thousand visitors all around the world. Thanks to the worldwide recognition for its high quality productions of Shakespearean plays, theatre-lovers as well as actors and playwrights flock to this city during the festival. The festival boosted the economy of the city again when it was facing a massive unemployment with the decline of its railway industry. In addition, The image of Stratford has been changed from an unrecognized industry city to a hot place of arts and tourism. This city is a good model where culture replaced the declined industry successfully in the post-industrial period. We can get some useful tips from this city about what is the most important elements of “a happy city” and how does humanistic consideration contribute to make a happy city.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
