Un principe heuristique gnralement attribu au mathmaticien franais A. Bloch stipule qu'une famille de fonctions holomorphes ayant une proprit en commun dans un certain domaine aura tendance tre normale s'il n'existe pas de fonction entire non constante ayant cette mme proprit.Bien qu'il existe des contre-exemples ce principe heuristique, celui-ci demeure nanmoins vrai dans plusieurs cas intressants.Rcemment, L. Zalcman [26] a introduit une technique permettant de rendre le principe de Bloch rigoureux : il s'agit d'une mthode de renormalisation qui dcrit le type de proprit ncessaire pour qu'une famille de fonctions mromorphes ayant cette proprit soit normale.Le prsent travail a pour but d'tudier la mthode de renormalisation de Zalcman et ses applications en analyse complexe.On y donne une prsentation dtaille des principaux rsultats associs ainsi que plusieurs applications, concernant, notamment, la dynamique complexe et la thorie des sries lacunaires. Avant-proposTout d'abord, je tiens remercier mon directeur de recherche, le professeur Thomas J. Ransford.Ses judieux conseils, son exprience ainsi que sa disponibilit ont t d'une valeur inestimable.En outre, je lui suis reconnaissant de m'avoir initi la recherche en mathmatiques pures lors de deux projets de recherche d't de premier cycle.Ensuite, je remercie le dpartement de mathmatiques et de statistique pour m'avoir confi plusieurs reprises des tches d'auxiliaire d'enseignement dans diffrents cours de premier cycle.Ces expriences ont t fort agrables et enrichissantes.En outre, ce travail n'aurait jamais vu le jour sans le support inconditionnel de ma famille, de mes amis et surtout de Claudia, dont l'amour et le soutien font de moi un homme combl.Enfin, je remercie le Conseil de recherche en sciences naturelles et gnie du Canada (CRSNG) pour son appui financier.
