Abstract
Depuis 2011, la poursuite du projet de recherche franco-québécois Fralubec sur l’évolution des multinationales Pechiney et Alcan au XX e siècle a été l’occasion pour une équipe de chercheurs de l’Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) d’explorer l’évolution de cultures organisationnelles implantées dans les installations de la multinationale Alcan au Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean de 1967 jusqu’à son absorption par Rio Tinto en 2007. Pour couvrir ce patrimoine de quarante années de « façons de faire originales Alcan », l’enquête ainsi menée s’est appuyée sur des entretiens réalisés auprès de trente-neuf dirigeants patronaux et syndicaux, professionnels et chercheurs. Accompagnée de ces partenaires de recherche, l’équipe s’est investie dans un itinéraire de recherche qualitative pour recueillir, analyser et interpréter des données qualitatives permettant de créer un ou des modèles de cultures organisationnelles qui couvrent six domaines de gestion. Cet article présente des extraits de récits autobiographiques qui constituent un échantillon des résultats de cette étude exploratoire.
