Abstract
Cette etude documentaire presente les principaux evenements qui ont marque l’histoire de l’inclusion scolaire au Nouveau-Brunswick reconnu, sur la scene nationale et internationale, comme un chef de file de la mise en œuvre du mouvement pour des ecoles plus inclusives (Vienneau, 2004; Mackay, 2006). Pour ce faire, des documents d’orientation publies sur la scene internationale, nationale et provinciale et des textes de loi adoptes par le Gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick sont mis en relation. L’analyse de ces sources d’information a permis d’etablir qu’au Nouveau-Brunswick, les mouvements de l’integration scolaire (de 1960 a 1990) et de l’inclusion scolaire (de 1990 a aujourd’hui) sont portes par l’engagement phare d’une communaute qui chemine autour de realisations marquantes, de defis importants et de frequents temps d’arret. Des temps d’arret pour prendre un recul et reflechir ensemble aux moyens de consolider l’inclusion qui decoule d’un engagement phare nourri d’une ferme croyance dans les bienfaits et la valeur de cette inclusion.
